Lobby Doors
In January 1993,
ADSW located some original doors from the Silver Theatre in an Alexandria,
Virginia antique shop. ADSW and the Silver Spring-Takoma Traffic Coalition
purchased the doors and presented them to Montgomery County at a press
conference on March 1, 1994.
The doors were faced with Formica and inlaid, according to the blueprints, with silver. They were installed between the street lobby and the rear of the auditorium.
This door was displayed at the Silver Theatre Arts Day on October 25, 1997. The auditorium side is visible. The photos below show the doors in 1938 from the lobby and from the auditorium.
