October 1998: Register Nomination Approved Locally
The
register nomination has passed the
Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission on Oct. 10, 1998 and the
state Governor's Consulting Committee of the Maryland Historical Trust on Oct.
27, 1998. It will be sent to the National Register as approved.
That's great news for ADSW and for the building, but the real fight will be in the spring, when the owner will seek final approvals to build from the Montgomery County Planning Board and an historic area work permit (HAWP) from the HPC. That is where we must work to convince the planners that the new construction should be set farther back.
