Vintage Hat by Mae Vintage Hat by MaeFrom the 1930s to 1980s, Mae Reeves was a famous hat designer in Philadelphia. She was one of the first women to establish a business in the downtown area of the city. Today, Mae Reeves, age 97, is retired, but her contributions to the fashion world will live on for many years to come. The Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture recently acquired her extensive hat collection, antique furniture from her millinery shop, and other personal items to tell the story about her illustrious career. This 50-year old collection is extraordinary and will be part of a museum fashion exhibit in the future.

Her daughter, Donna Limerick, has photos and "rare" vintage hats from the collection. Her presentation features models who take you back in time, when HATS! were a very special part of every woman's wardrobe. Vintage costume jewelry and vintage handbags are available for purchase at her appearances.
