Join ADSW for a special program at the National Capital Trolley Museum's new expanded location.

DCT766The afternoon will start with a silent film compilation featuring Harold Lloyd, the amazing star of silent films. The full length film and several short features, such as "Safety Last", show where street cars compete for a cut of the action. This exhibit not only identifies how street cars were a film staple, but also how street cars were important transportation to bring so many people to the movie palaces of the age.

Next we will move to a guided tour of the display barn, and then onto other self-guided tours. We will see several trolleys that have never been on regular public display. They include examples of street cars from all different eras, localities and designs. While some have been restored, others are still awaiting restoration after being rescued from a less graceful final destination.

The afternoon will conclude with a private trolley ride for our group starting at 3:45pm.

Directions to the museum can be found on their website.
