Hickory Cluster, Reston, Virginia, Photo courtesy of the Reston Museum.Modernism, contrary to what some might think, is actually an imprecise term applied to widely divergent buildings and often conflicting design ideologies. Martin Moeller, the Museum’s senior vice president and curator, defines and explains modernism and its varied branches.

Three Movements in Architecture Lecture Series

Noted experts will discuss the physical characteristics of each movement and how culture, politics, and technical innovations are reflected in the architecture of those times.
