For a second year, ADSW's Exposition of the Decorative Arts will be a major component of the new Northern Virginia Antiques and Modernism Show and Sale. This year's show will feature at least 150 exhibitors from 15 states, with more vintage clothing dealers and a larger section of Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern dealers. “This show is unique in this area of the country,” said Arthur Farbenbloom of Pappabello Management, who collaborates with the Arlington Kiwanis and the Art Deco Society of Washington. Until last year, you had to travel to Manhattan for Stella’s Pier 94 to find a show with specific sections of dealers devoted to 17th-19th century antiques and other sections with Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern items. The show has ample free parking and a shuttle from the Virginia Square Orange Line Metro on Saturday (10am-5pm). A professional caterer will serve food. The ADSW and the Kiwanis will benefit directly from funds raised by this show. Proceeds support the preservation and educational programs of the ADSW and community projects of the Kiwanis. DealersAmong the Modernism dealers joining the show this year are Deco Haus (New Jersey), L’Iris Bleu (Paris, France), Skyscraper (New York), Auerbach & Maffia (Pennsylvania), Metropolitan Interiors (Washington, D.C.), Spencer Weisz Gallery (Illinois), Just About Modern (Florida), Antique Underground (New York), Modern for All (Virginia), and Charley Harper Studio (Ohio). Links lead to photos of dealers' merchandise. Add this to a cadre of returning dealers and the show promises selection that is bigger and better than ever. Many of the returning dealers, such as Deco Doug (Michigan), John Ribar (New York), Try to Remember (Maryland), and Past Pleasures (Virginia) have been with the show for more than 15 years. For many of the dealers exhibiting at the Northern Virginia Antiques & Modernism Show, this will be their only show in the mid-Atlantic region. These include:
