We’ve planned a classic 1930's dinner dance at the glittering Art Deco Carlyle Club.

The evening features a seated dinner with music will be by City Rhythm Orchestra. For more information about the excellent band, City Rhythm Orchestra, visit their site at http://www.cityrhythm.com/.

Benjamin Ricard and Genevieve KerouacYou'll see special dance performances by 2007 World Swing Dance champions Benjamin Ricard and Genevieve Kerouac, better known as Ben and Gen. Their web site, http://ben-gen.com, features videos of their award winning dance routines.

Jean Veloz and her brother Ray Phelps will also be special guests. In 1943, MGM studios filmed a short called Groovie Movie that showcased a style of Lindy Hop made popular in Southern California by Dean Collins. Our heroine, Jean Veloz (nee Phelps) starred in that film. It has since become a favorite of and inspiration for Lindy Hoppers all over the world. We'll show the film short that started it all, Groovie Movie. For more information about Jean Veloz, visit her website at http://www.jeanveloz.com/.

The Carlyle Club

The Carlyle Club—designed in grand Art Deco style—transports its guests to a time when a night out meant fine dining, live entertainment, and great conversation among friends. With world class big band entertainment, fine white tablecloth dining, and a classic cocktail menu, The Carlyle Club will be a destination like no other in the Washington, D.C. area.
