Saturday, December 6, 2008 Greenbelt Community Center Members and Nonmembers Are Welcome Our afternoon will start with a tour of Greenbelt's historic Community Center (formerly the town's elementary school), considered by many to be one of the finest examples of municipal Art Deco architecture in the area. The building features outdoor WPA-era art in the form of friezes by Lenore Thomas. Our tour will include a stop at a small exhibition on vintage fashion, Sublime on a Dime: Fashions from the Great Depression to WWII. The tour will be followed by brief introductory film about the history of Greenbelt. After the tour we will conduct ADSW's annual meeting. We will introduce the Board members and report on the status of the society. We will end by showing a video on Frank Lloyd Wright’s Westcott House. Light refreshments will be served. Please meet at 3 PM at the front desk of the Greenbelt Community Center. Come early and enjoy the Greenbelt Festival of Lights Craft Fair.
