Join us at this Veteran’s Day gala honoring the efforts of our gallant fighting men and women and the USO, which has delivered its special brand of comfort, morale and recreational services to service members and their families for over 60 years. You'll swear you've stepped back into a USO dance in the 1940s, dancing to one of the favorite big bands of the era!

To get things rolling, Tom and Debra, the "Deans of DC Swing Dance", will teach an introductory lesson from 8:30 to 9:00 PM. Tom and Debra teach over 4,000 people a year and have won numerous state, national and international dance championships.

The Artie Shaw Orchestra, under the direction of Dick Johnson, will play from 9:00 to midnight. Watch for special dance performances.

The Stars and Stripes Ball will be held at the 1930s era clubhouse of the Woman's Club of Chevy Chase near the intersection of East-West Highway and Connecticut Avenue. January's Black and White Ball at the Woman's Club was attended by over 300 people—don't miss another grand evening!

Vintage, military, or formal dress is suggested. Prizes awarded for the best guy and gal vintage outfits. See our hints on what to wear or listen to experts present 1940s glamour tips.
