The apartment building at 3725 Macomb Street NW was designed by G.T. Santmyers for the Gelman Construction Company in 1937. It is in fair shape and is most notable for the decorative elements surrounding the main entrance. Linear bands of dark red brick separate ever-widening sections of yellow brick and are again repeated in the lighter red brick facade behind the entryway. Glass block accentuates the doorway right and left in circular columns of varying width and also above the doorway. Glass block is used again within the lobby space which is also adorned with a simple, geometric metal railing. The outside facade is composed of three tones of brick with the darkest red used again to define the linearity of the structure. The wings and central portion of the building are crowned with symmetrically-placed steps of darker red detailing in the upper most story.
