The Macklin is a very cleverly designed apartment building with retail stores, served by their own convenient parking lot, on Connecticut Avenue. Meanwhile, around the corner on Newark Street, the apartments have a separate entrance with a metal canopy and glass blocks. The building was designed by architect Mirhan Mesrobian, with some of his signature bas-relief spandrels & lintels, decorative grilles, and interesting motifs of birds, flowers, waves.
