Join an ADSW member at his 1921 Bungalow for an Art Deco afternoon.
Saturday, October 25, 2008
2:00-5:00 p.m.
The event begins with a brief presentation on the A.C. Gilbert Company,
including Erector Sets and various science sets. We will view the
member's Erector Set collection. Following this, the floor is open for
members to talk about their favorite Art Deco Items.
Members and friends are asked to bring one or more small Art Deco
objects to share with the group. Each participant should plan to talk
for 5 minutes or so about his/her item of interest and spend a small
amount of time discussing it with the group.
Coffee, tea and light snacks will be served.
We ask for either a donation of $10 for members/$15 for nonmembers to
the Art Deco Society of Washington OR that you bring a new member that
will join (and get in free).
Please RSVP before October 18, 2008. Attendance is limited to 20 people.
This is a great chance to show off your favorite statuette or to find
out what that gadget grandma left you actually does. The only thing that
we won't do is give appraisals.
Location: Northwest DC, near Chevy Chase Circle and the Avalon Theater.
