It's time again for the ADSW Elections for the Board of Directors. We
need your enthusiasm and dedication to keep our society vibrant.
We urge members in good standing to consider becoming a candidate for a
seat on the board. We need your talents and skills to help keep our
organization effective. Although specific qualifications are not
required, Board members will be expected to take on the responsibility
of serving as officers or committee chairs, which will include some time
commitment. Board members are also expected to attend monthly Board
meetings and be prepared to discuss agenda items. There are eight seats
(8) available on the Board for this election. Terms are two years.
Candidate Statements are due by October 1, 2008.
Ballots are due by November 4, 2008.
Election results will be announced at the Annual Meeting/Holiday Party,
to be held in early December, location TBD.
To become a candidate, write a brief description (200-word maximum) of
yourself in the form of a short statement about your background and how
you could serve the ADSW through membership on the Board. Send your
statement to Jim Linz at jlinz@adsw.org or to Jim Linz, 13614 Ridge Rock
Drive, Chantilly, VA 20151 no later than October 1, 2008. E-mail
submission is strongly preferred.
Ballots, along with the candidates' statements, will be mailed to
members in good standing in early October as part of Trans-Lux. Ballots
must be mailed (postmarked no later than November 4) to ADSW Election,
c/o Dana Ott, 503 Park Street NE, Vienna, VA 22180. Each membership will
receive one ballot and have one vote.
This is the perfect time for you to become more active in ADSW. We need
your enthusiasm and participation to make ADSW an effective and
meaningful organization. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing
you at the Annual Meeting!
