Our friends at the Arlington Heritage Alliance have organized a bus
trip to New York to see an exhibit of a Lustron Home, formerly located
in Arlington, which is now on display at the Museum of Modern Art.
Saturday, October 18, 2008
View Arlington's own all-steel "Lustron" home rebuilt inside the Museum
of Modern Art as part of the exhibit: "Home Delivery: Fabricating the
Modern Dwelling."
o Enjoy an exclusive tour of the exhibit with MoMA curators.
o Learn the fascinating history of these prefabricated houses and the
exciting preservation story of Arlington’s Lustron.
o Highly praised exhibit. The NY Times dubbed it "a delightful
surprise" and "the kind of loving, scholarly achievement that is rare
in today's architectural climate." The Associated Press called the
show "an engrossing survey of the prefab movement."
o Don't miss it - this is the last weekend of the exhibit!
o Register by October 1st
