HELP US DESIGN AN ADSW FASHION EVENT!!
The ADSW needs your help to design an event focused on Fashion in the Art
Deco era. Many of you may remember ADSW fashion shows of years past, and
we would like to do something similar this year. But we need your help.
- DO YOU have an ART DECO era outfit you would be willing to model?
- ARE YOU familiar with makeup and/or hairstyle techniques of the period
and want to share your knowledge with others?
- DO YOU have clothing or accessories from the period you would be willing
to display and describe?
We want to draw on the knowledge and interest of our members and others who
are interested in fashion from the period. Depending on interest and
availability -
1. We could hold an event that is a fashion show
2. We could hold a workshop on hairstyle and makeup techniques of the Art
Deco period.
3. We could hold a "dress vintage" cocktail party with music and vendors
selling clothing, or
4. Hold a fashion "show and tell" (Bring your own fashions and accessories
to talk about or swap)
5. All of the above!!
We have a wonderful venue in Bethesda for this event that is centrally
located and near metro (and parking is also available).
If you would be interested in participating in this event, please send
details of your specific interest (modeling an outfit, etc) to
kjarboe@adsw.org and dott@adsw.org by March 5th.
Please also let us know if you would prefer this event to be held on a
weeknight or on a weekend.
