Second Tour of "Modernism" Exhibit at the Corcoran

Saturday, May 12, 2007
1:00 PM

Corcoran Gallery of Art
500 Seventeenth Street NW
Washington, DC

Tickets: $17

Dear Members and Friends,

ADSW has been able to arrange a second guided tour of the blockbuster
exhibition entitled "Modernism: Designing a New World 1914-1939" at
the Corcoran Gallery of Art. ADSW members who attended the first tour
in March were enthusiastic and particularly enjoyed the comments of
the Corcoran's very knowledgeable docents.

This largest and most comprehensive exhibition on the Modernism ever
staged in America explores the foundation and meaning of Modernism,
and it contains some of the most seminal works of modern art, graphic
and product design, and architecture produced in the first half of the
20th century. The key Modern movements--such as the Bauhaus, the
seminal German art school, Suprematism in Russia, the DeStijl Group in
the Netherlands, and Purism in France--are explored in detail. There
are over 350 objects from 17 countries and more than 50 film clips in
"Modernism." The exhibit was organized by the Victoria and Albert
Museum in London and presented there last year.

Our exclusive tour will take place on Saturday, May 12 at 1:00 PM. The
cost of the tour will be $17, which will cover your timed ticket
admission to the exhibit and a tour fee. Space on this tour is
limited, and all registrations must be completed by April 30.

You can register on our Web site, www.adsw.org, or send a check
immediately to: ADSW Modernism Tour, P.O. Box 42722, Washington, DC
20015. We hope to see you at the tour!
